PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a special photodetecting element and a color separating circuit for color temperature detection by employing the same stripe constitution with the color separation filter of an image pickup system for a color separation filter for color temperature detection. CONSTITUTION:Subject light and its circmuferential light are guided through a light guide 5 to the color temperature detection area 6b of the color separation filter 6 set outside of the effective image pickup area of a solid-state image pickup element 7, which performs photoelectric conversion. The effecitve image- pickup area 6a and area 6b of the filter 6 have the same stripe constitution. The subject light, on the other hand, is transmitted through an image pickup optical system 2 and the area 6a of the filter 6 and then converted photoelectrically by the element 7. A signal obtained by the element 7 is separated by a process circuit 9 into three primary color signals of red, green, and blue. The color signals of red and blue are brought under the gain control of gain control circuits 10 and 11 and inputted to a matrix circuit 17 together with the color signal of green from the circuit 9. The circuit 17 converts those input signals into a luminance signal Y and color difference signals R-Y and B-Y. |
