摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an abrasion resistant casting which is highly resistant to abrasion particularly on the outside circumferential surface and is highly tough in the inside by charging the molten metal of a base material into a centrifugal casting, charging hard powder of specific gravity larger than the specific gravity of said molten metal from the surface of the molten metal layer formed by said charging and migrating the powder to the outside circumferential part by centrifugal forces. CONSTITUTION:Hard powder (e.g.,; WC powder) P is charged into a molde 1 which is rotating around an axial center by a charger 12, whereby the distributions of uniform layer thickness are obtained in the longitudinal direction and over the entire circumference. Thereafter, molten metal M (e.g, Nihard cast iron) is charged into the mold from a hopper 2 and is penetrated into the powder layer by a centrifugal effect. After the molten metal layer 9 attains a suitable layer thickness, the remaining powder P is charged 3 into a prescribed area and is migrated through the molten metal layer to the outside shell layer side, from which the powder is deposited on the previously charged powder layer to form a mingled layer a2 which builds up like a ring of the prescribed area. When the solidification is completed in this state, the intended abrasion resistant casting is obtained.
