A compound of the formula: <CHEM> wherein R<1> is methoxy, n is zero, A is alkylene of 2 to 4 carbon atoms and Y is a group of the formula: <CHEM> or <CHEM> wherein X is hydrogen or halogen; or R<1> is hydrogen or methoxy, n is an integer of 1, A is alkylene of 2 to 3 carbon atoms and Y is a group of the formula: <CHEM> or R<1> is methoxy, n is zero, Y is a group of the formula: <CHEM> , and A is a vranched alkylene of the formula: <CHEM> wherein either one of R<2>, R<3> and R<4> is methyl and the remaining two groups of R<2>, R<3> and R<4> are hydrogen, and processes for preparation thereof are disclosed The compound (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof is useful for the therapeutic treatment or reduction of increased intracranial pressure. |
