PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance of a roller and its durability to troubles, by constituting a hollow composite roller by melt-sticking the outer layer made of high chromium cast iron and the inner layer made of ductile cast iron into one body. CONSTITUTION:A hollow composite roller having excellent abrasion resistance and durability to troubles is manufactured by a centrifugally casting method. The outer layer is constituted of a high-chromimum cast iron having excellent abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, and >70HS hardness, and containing 2-3.2% C, 0.5-1.5% Si, 0.5-1.5% Mn, <0.08% P, <0.06% S, 1.0-2.0% Ni, 10- 30% Cr, and 0.5-1.5% Mo, and according to demand, containing both or either of <1.0% Nb and <1.0% V. The inner layer is constituted of a ductile cast iron having excellent durability to troubles and containing 2-3% C, 2-3% Si, 0.5- 1.5% Mn, <0.06% P, <0.04% S, 13-25% Ni, <5% Cr, <1% Mo, and 0.02- 0.1% Mg; both layers are melt-stuck together into one body. |
