PURPOSE:To increase the combustion efficiency of an incinerator by enhancing the sealing ability of an annular feeding passage against a combustion chamber, by fractionating combustible material from uncombustible one after refuse material is crushed, and by directly feeding the combustible material into the combustion chamber, as well as to feed the uncombustible material into the annular feed passage provided around the combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:Bulky waste is fractionated into combustible material and uncombustible one by a suitable fractionator 2, after the waste is treated by a waste crusher 1. On the other hand, a waste fusion furnace A is composed in such a manner that an annular feed passage R, through which treated material descends under its own gravity in the state that the material is fully packed in the passage R, is provided encircling a combustion chamber 3, and a gas discharging path combined with a melted material take-out path 4, is connected to the center part of the bottom of a combustion chamber 3. Combustible material is directly fed into the combustion furnace 3 passing through an air feed path 5, while uncombustible material is fed into the annular feed passage R. With such an arrangement, bridge is prevented from being formed in the annular feed passage R, at the same time, the feeding rate of fuel to a downward-looking burner 6 is decreased, because luminous flames are formed when combustible material is burnt in the combustion chamber 3, and the heat transfer efficiency by radiation can be increased in the combustion chamber 3. |
