PURPOSE:To simplify the manufacturing of a shell body with high accuracy at a low cost, by carrying out the process of cylindrically bending a strip material which is beforehand formed with necessary cam grooves, etc., so that the material is economically used. CONSTITUTION:Cam grooves 23 having a predetermined shape are plastically formed at a predetermined pitch by rolling, pressing or the like process, in the thick center part 22 of a strip material 20 having both side parts 21 which are formed to have a thickness less than that of the center part 22 by a plastic formation process such as, for example, rolling process. Thus formed material 25 is subjected to a bending process so that the material 25 has a cylindrical shape, after the material 25 is cut in a suitable length in accordance with the number of rollers 12 incorporated in an one-way clutch, and the abutted end parts of the material 25 are jointed together. |
