Mole trap actuated by ground movement at mole hill - uses rocking lever and cable to pivot hooks releasing spring loaded descending spikes

The mole trap uses the displacement of the ground as a mole hill is formed to release spring loaded spikes (2). The spikes project from a horizontal plate (1) mounted on a support frame (3) which is in turn mounted on the ground. The plate is capable of reciprocal vertical movements, is driven forcibly into the lower position by coil springs (4), and is held in the raised position by pivotable hook bolts (6). A plate (7) on the end of the longer arm of an assymetric rocking lever may detect the ground movement, the lever displacing a cased (9) spring loaded (11) cable with-drawing the hook bolts.
