PURPOSE:To obtain an organic thin film material exhibiting magnetism, by applying the two-dimensional orientation aggregate forming ability of synthesis two-molecular film forming compound, and arranging regularly a metal ion complex having magnetic moment. CONSTITUTION:A complex forming a planar four-coardination structure in which copper or oxivanadium serves as a center metal and a matrix which has positive or negative charge and posseses property forming a two-mecular film are uniformly dissolved or dispersed in water by means of a supersonic treatment and the like. This solution or dispersion liquid is casted on a substrate, and dried gradually for several days in a desiccator. In this manner a thin film is easily formed. Setting the direction of film thickness as Z axis, ESR is measured in cases where Z axis is parallel to and vertical to the direction of magnetic field. Thereby magnetic anisotropy can be estimated and recognized. The thin film like this can be applied to, for example, a medium for various memories as a magnetic recording material, an absorber for electromagnetic waves, a small-sized transformer and motor, etc.
