<p>The chassis longeron for a caravan has, on its lower side, a recess (3,3') onto which is fixed a horizontal flange (5), to retain the axle. The flange has a vertical plate (4) with a height equal to the thickness of the longeron, and welded to it. The longeron can be in two sections formed of a pressed sheet (1,1'), each having half of the recess, which abut and are spot welded to the vertical plate on the axle flange. The recess around the axle increases the ground clearance of the body to allow passage of cables or brake lines.</p> |
