PURPOSE:To provide a battery having excellent electrolyte leakage resistance by using a sealant obtained by adding polyterpene to asphalt compared with a sealant of asphalt alone. CONSTITUTION:1-80% (as a solid) addition of polyterpene to asphalt is desirable. A ring-shape gasket 7 is immersed in a solution prepared by dissolving 46g of asphalt mixed with polyterpene in 1l of toluene, and is drawn up, then dried to form a film 8 comprising the mixture of asphalt and polyterpene on the surface of the gasket. The circumference of a negative terminal plate 6 which is brought into contact with the ring-shape gasket 7 is coated with a solution prepared by dissolving 289g of asphalt mixed with polyterpene in 1l of toluene, and dried to form a film 8 comprising the mixture of asphalt and polyterpene. This negative terminal plate 6 is inserted to the ring-shape gasket 7. |
