PURPOSE:To simplify a position detector for a linear motor by providing a plurality of magnetism sensitive units on a vehicle, and producing a logic sum of the output signals of the respective units, thereby eliminating the facility of a ground side. CONSTITUTION:Magnetism sensitive units SCA, SCB are provided at the positions on a vehicle to be faced through a small gap with propelling coils LSMA, LSMB and to be disposed at the same positions in the forwarding direction, thereby detecting the magnetic fluxes produced at the coils. The coils are composed to obtain the same propelling forces of right and left sides by providing coils LSMA, LSMB of the entirely same construction at both sides of the vehicle on the ground side and flowing the same current. Then, the relative position of the coils and the field poles can be obtained by producing by a logic sum circuit a logic sum of the outputs of the two units SCA, SCB. |
