The invention describes a change-speed gearbox having a plurality of layshafts, in which load compensation is provided in order to compensate the components of the tooth force which arise under load with helical or spur toothing. In order to achieve this in the case of rigidly supported layshafts, the input shaft is supported in an elastically flexible manner. However, it is also possible, in the case of a rigidly supported input shaft, for elastic support for the layshafts to be provided. This elastic support is achieved by the fact that the corresponding bearing eye is connected to the gearbox housing via a thin elastic web. The bearing eye can be connected to the housing by a single web or by two webs and it is possible for the web to be produced integrally with the housing or as a separate component with the possibility for fixing the web in the housing.
