<p>A vibration sensor is mounted on the body of an engine so as to be directly exposed to the vibrations of same and produce a signal via which a closed loop air-fuel ratio control system can hold the air-fuel ratio of the mixture fed to the engine on the lean side of stoichiometric and in the near vicinity of the "best ecomomy point" at which fuel consumption minimizes.</p> |
