ATTENUATOR-HEADBOX CONNECTING A system and method for delivering a pulp suspension to a headbox past an attenuator, the system and method insuring that no further disturbances are introduced into the pulp suspension after it passes the attenuator. The system includes the attenuator, a conduit for delivering pulp suspension to flow past, and in operative communication with the attenuator; and a substantially linear pipe section, preferably having a quadrate cross-section for connecting the conduit from the attenuator to the headbox. The linear pipe section is substantially shorter than the conduit. The conduit is also substantially quadrate in cross-section, and connected to the conduit on the opposite side of the attenuator as the headbox is a transition. The transition connects a pipe that is circular in cross-section to the conduit, the conduit and transition being disposed substantially in a straight line. The linear pipe section and the conduit preferably are integral, being directly attachable to a header in the headbox.
|
