PURPOSE:To adjust the movement of the variable power positions of both optical scanning carriages by the use of a scanning motor for back and forth driving of the carriages by providing the 1st locking means which locks the movement of both carriages and the 2nd locking means which locks the 2nd optical scanning carriage. CONSTITUTION:In the case of variable power copying, for example, scale down, a scanning motor 33 is rotated in an arrow (a) direction in order to move the 1st mirror 25 by DELTAl to the broken line position from the unmagnification position shown by solid lines. In this case, the 2nd optical scanning carriage 22 is locked by the 2nd locking means 5c, and since the 1st locking means 48 is not in operation, a carriage 21 displaces by DELTAl from the carriage 22. If the means 48 is put in operation and the motor 33 is run in an arrow (b) direction by unlocking the 2nd locking means, the carriages 21, 22 move in an arrow B direction. At this time the carriage 22 moves by the distance half the moving distance DELTAl of the carriage 21 with respect to said carriage and arrives at the solid line position. |
