PURPOSE:To cut a honeycomb structure piece with its inflection checked, by applying a rotary cutter to the front of a honeycomb and revolving said cutter, while blowing compressed air around a blade face or the cutter. CONSTITUTION:An air passage hole 4 is set up in a center shaft 3 of a rotary cutter 2 while radial exhaust holes 5 are made up at the tip and these exhaust holes 5 are opened to a blade face 6 of the rotary cutter 2. When compressed air is fed to the air passage hole 4 as cutting a honeycomb structure piece 2 by the cutter 2, the compressed air is spouted out of the exhaust holes 5, blowing said honeycomb structure piece, so that there is no fear of any cutting failure stemming from what the cutter gets broken by the impact of a collision with the honeycomb structure piece; inasmuch as its shape is kept well by the compressed air surrounding, a smooth cutting job takes place in this way. |
