[Also in Division H1] An electric lamp bulb 11 arranged to project light through an aperture in a plate 14 is supported by a pair of brackets 43, 45 secured to the plate and engaging coaxial cylindrical spigots 36, 37 integral with the bulb, the bracket 45 being hinged to allow the removal of the bulb and the front portion 38b of the bulb being in contact with one end of a tube 41 the other end of which is secured to the plate around the aperture. The portion 38b is hemispherical with its centre on the axis of the spigots so that the bulb can be adjusted about this axis, and the rear portion 38a of the bulb is ellipsoidal with its first focus coincident with the centre of the portion 38b and its second focus located in the aperture. The filament of the bulb is disposed at the first focus, and the interior surface of the bulb is provided with a reflective coating except for the window 40. The coating on the portion 38a is dichroic. |
