A knife arrangement for angular-cutting knife rolls (10) of wood-chipping machines for the manufacture of chips comprises disposable strip-steel double-edged knives (1), the straight knife edge of which is provided, at intervals corresponding to the desired chip length, with interruptions in the form of notches (2) which are shaped out of the edge, the knives (1) being fixed between a knife holder (6) and a wear plate (7) in cooperation with a centrifugal wedge (16) with a press fit in the knife roll (10). The notches (2) are shaped out of the chipping face of the double-edged knives (1) and protrude with their tip (2') from the cutting edge (1') in such a way that the free face (4) of the knife edge and the free faces (5) of the notches (2) lie in one plane. Stops for the outer notches (2a) and the inner notches (2b), respectively, are formed in the knife holder (6) and/or in the wear plate (7) and a groove (15) assigned to the inner notches (2b) is provided in the knife holder (6). <IMAGE>
