Reactor has a number of fuel elements subject to a coolant and the rate of coolant flow to each or all of the elements is adjustable as a function of the relative power of the elements, which changes during operation of the reactor. The devices which displace the adjusting organs are connected, inside the reactor, to a common drive. The parts for passage of the coolant are synchronized in the direction of a constant coolant temp. at the outlets from the fuel elements, independently of the core zone and the wear or consumption of the individula elements. Adjustment is effected with small number of parts and simple design, and apparatus may be used at high temp. and in hostile media, e.g. in reactors cooled by liquid metal. |
