PURPOSE:To prepare the titled substance efficiently, by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus, capable of producing the titled substance, having resistance to 5-(2-thienyl)valeric acid in a medium. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium such as a variant of Bacillus sphaericus IFO 3525 (FERM-P 6143), etc. belonging to the genus Bacillus, capable of producing biotin active substance, having resistance to 5-(2-thienyl)valeric acid, is cultivated. The medium consists of a carbon source and a nitrogen source, such as starch, saccharide, peptone, amino acid, etc., the bacterium is cultivated by shaking culture or aerated spinner culture at 20-40 deg.C, or a method wherein a biotin precursor such as pyrophosphoric acid, etc. is added to the culture after the propagation of the mold may be applied. |
