The fixing element is for securing screws in a bore formed in a body made of synthetic material. It is made of sheet metal and comprises a pair of converging shanks (1) joined by a bent yoke (2). The shanks have teeth (3) formed on their inside edges to engage the thread of a bolt or screw inserted between the shanks. - Outwardly-directed feet (4) are formed on the end of the shanks (1) to engage the sides of a blind bore or the bottom edge of a through bore when the shanks are forced apart by the screwing of a bolt or screw secured into the element.
