<p>The mechanism is intended for laying a concrete road surface. It comprises two support beams (12,13) which are parallel to the direction (W) of the road and carry (via 1, 4-11) a frame (2) with controls and operator position. The two ends of each beam each carry a wheel set (18) with tracked endless belt, which permit moving the entire assembly in the direction (W). The wheel set can be swivelled (about 20 through 90 deg) into a position at right angles (T) to the direction (W) to vary the working width.
