PURPOSE:To obtain the titled heat-sensitive recording material capable of high- speed recording and excellent in clearness of color tone and storage stability by adding a heat-meltable substance and a specific betaine derivative to a heat- sensitive chromogenic layer consisting of a diazo compound layer and a coupler layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive chromogenic layer consisting of a diazo compound layer (e.g., of the formulaIor II) and a coupler layer (e.g., of phenol, resorcin) is provided on a supporter. In this case, a heat-meltable substance (e.g., 2-tribromoethanol, paraffin wax) and a betaine derivative of the formula III (where R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are each H or an alkyl) are added to said heat-sensitive chromogenic layer to obtain an objective diazo-series heat-sensitive recording material. The diazo heat-sensitive recording material has excellent storage stability and excellent chromogenic property because when the heat-meltable substance is melted by heating, the betaine derivative is dissolved in the heat- meltable substance and serves as a developing accelerator. |
