Brick lining construction provides good anchorage for an applied protective refractory coating and consists of basic refractory bricks arranged in two groups. The first is interspersed between second group bricks and has recessed inward faces with respect to the inward faces of the second group. The inward faces of the bricks and the walls of the recesses are covered with a protective basic refractory coating material pref. chrome, dolomite, magnesite, periclase, zirconium or a combination of these. |
