PURPOSE:To prevent a nozzle from being clogged by preventing the composition of an ink inside the nozzle from being changed for a long time by using the same ink as the jet ink as a dry-preventing liquid in the internal wall of a cap which covers the outer circumference of the nozzle and seals it from outside. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head 4 is composed of a nozzle 41, an ink chamber 42, a piezo element 43 and an ink tank 44 and when a kind of liquid (water is used conventionally) for preventing clogging which is stored in a tank 73 and caused to impregnate with an elastic member 712 of a cap 71 for preventing the nozzle 41 from being clogged is changed to the same ink as that of the jet ink, the saturated steam pressure inside the cap coincides with that inside the nozzle and the evaporation and dew formation of ink are equalized, whereby the ink is neither thinned nor thickened and its composition is not changed for a long period of time and the nozzle can be prevented from being clogged. |
