Rapid diagnostic and method for using it, especially for quantitative determinations

Rapid diagnostic consisting of a base layer which is partially covered by an absorbent material, which in turn is partially covered by a reagent layer. The reagent layer is covered by a transparent covering layer and is attached, by means of a narrow zone, to the base layer and/or the absorbent material in such a way that a liquid contact between the reagent layer and the absorbent material only occurs when pressure is applied to the covering layer. The invention also relates to a method for using the diagnostic, in which the sample is applied to the uncovered part of the absorbent material, is allowed to spread and adopt the appropriate temperature, after which the reagent layer is pressed on areally and the reaction thus initiated is optically analysed in reflectance.
