PURPOSE:To prevent the raveling of a high strength solid wire wound on a spool for welding without terminal treatment and to improve productivity by forming the outermost winding layer of said wire in a small cast diameter by the number of turns determined by a specific equation. CONSTITUTION:At least >=1 turn, shown by single circles, of a wire W1 shown by double circles, wound on the outermost circumference between the flange part 6, 6 on both sides of a spool are wound at the cast diameter smaller than the winding diameter of the winding layer on the outermost circumference and at the number (m) of turns of the small cast satisfying the equationI. Here R0= the radius of wire winding in the winding layer of the outermost circumference, R1= the cast radius of the small cast wire in the winding layer on the outermost circumference, R2= the cast radius of the ordinary cast wire in the winding layer of the outermost circumference, n= the number of turns on the outermost circumference of the ordinary cast wire, mu= the coefft. of friction of the wire and R2<R0. The winding is completed under the conditions of R0< the radius of the flange parts 6. |
