A pneumatic tyre having excellent driving performance and high uniformity whose carcass is reinforced by belts arranged in the interior of the tread region is produced using polyester cord made from polyterephthalate fibres with special properties with respect to breaking length, final modulus, initial modulus, elongation at break, shrinkage on dry heating and elongation under load.
