<p>To drive a shaft (8) from a reciprocating piston engine, the force obtained during the working time of the piston (1, 2) is transmitted by a lever (4) which rotates the shaft (8) by means of a free-wheel (7) acting during the driving stroke. One of the ends of the lever (4) attacks the shaft (8), while the other end is connected to the rod (3) connected to the piston (2). Two rods (10, 11) supported (9) within guides (6) integral with (5) the shaft (8) are pivoted on the lever (4) to transmit the power from the shaft (8) to the piston (2) during the other strokes of the engine. The tangential arrangement of the engine (1, 2) with respect to the shaft (8) and the collecting members connected to the piston (2) avoid the dead center position of the engine, allow a longer expansion stroke and provide for a total evacuation of the cylinder (1) after the driving stroke. Thus, there is obtained a high power with a reduced fuel consumption, a silent running of the engine and a reduced content of noxious substances in the exhaust gas.</p> |
