PURPOSE:To easily and quickly perform the conversion of picture element density of recording picture at exposure, by changing the amount of sub-scanning moving of exposure units, in response to the change in the magnification of an image forming element at the exposure system. CONSTITUTION:When a picture element density changeover instruction changes from ''0'' to ''1'' in a controller 33, a plunger solenoid is energized and the selective changeover of a lens cylinder with high magnification is made to change the image forming magnification of the exposure system. In response to the set magnification, the number of driving pulses of a step motor set to a pulse generation section 36 is changed to lower value with a pulse control section 37, the amount of sub-scanning movement of a carriage is changed, and the recording of picture with high picture element density can be made. |
