1516481 Two-part couplings AMP Inc 16 Dec 1976 [2 Jan 1976 2 Sept 1976] 52499/76 Heading H2E A connector has a housing 12 of plastics material formed by a body 13 having a cavity, and a cover 14 integrally connected to the body by a hinge A wire is insertable into the cavity through an end wall of body 13 and engages a first contact of a terminal 11 formed from a single piece of sheet metal when the terminal is pressed into the cavity. The first contact part is formed with a slot 29 engageable with the wire cone and comprises two parallel plates 27 each having a slot portion 27 and joined by a slotted member 28. The second contact part may be an eyelet 26. The first contact part may be formed by bending in the reverse sense to that shown in Fig. 1, see Fig. 7 (not shown) and may have spacers between the parallel plates, Figs. 9 and 10 (not shown). The cover may extend from a side wall of the housing body, Fig. 8 (not shown). A projector or stuffer (21), see Figs. 3, 4 and 5 (not shown) supports the wire during engagement with the terminal. |
