Method of dust suppression during mining by cutting

Dust suppression, in particular during mining by cutting, is carried out by spraying water via nozzles arranged on the drum bodies and other machine parts. To avoid the constant blockages of the narrow nozzles bores and to reduce the water to be sprayed to a considerable degree, the water fed at a pressure of about 20 bar to the nozzles, having a diameter of 3 to 4 mm, is limited via proportional control valves to a water quantity of about 40 litres per minute and compressed air is added in a certain ratio via a compressed-air line.
