<p>The solar collector consists of a panel (4) receiving the concentrated solar radiation. The panel (14) is mounted in a box-section collector (12) lined with water tubes. During periods of zero solar radiation, or at other times when the collector is out of commission, a protective panel (16) is positioned over the solar panel. To prevent freezing of the heating fluid in the circuit the protective panel is fitted with radiant heaters, either electric, gas or other type. The heaters are controlled by thermostats located on the walls of the collector at points.</p> |
