PURPOSE:To measure the deviated amount of the web accurately, by irradiating light beams on one side of the H beam from specified two directions with respect to the conveying direction of the H beam, irradiating a light beam to the other side at a specified angle, and detecting the irradiated position from the direction at a right angle with respect to the conveying direction. CONSTITUTION:The light beams, which are perpendicular to the flange surface of the H beam 1, are irradiated from light sources 4-6 in parallel with the surface of the flange. The optical axes from the light sources 4 and 6 are inclined by alpha and (2pi-alpha) with respect to the conveying direction of the H beam 1. The optical axes from the light sources 4 and 5 are located on the common line across the H beam 1. Image sensors 7 and 8 are provided on both sides of the web 3 of the H beam 1. The distances Y1 and Y2 between the parts a1 and a2 and e1 and e2 at the edges of the flange irradiated by the light sources 4 and 6 and the irradiated parts b and f of the web surface, and the distance y2 by the light source 5 are computed by an image processor 9 in consideration of a slant angle beta in the conveying direction. From its value, the amount of the deviation of the web 3 (x1-X2) is accurately obtained. |
