PURPOSE:To decrease the keying frequency without causing the deterioration of the converting factor, by using the full spelling to a short word which increases the obscurity with omission of vowels and using the abbreviated spelling to a long word which does not impair the meaning with some omission of the information. CONSTITUTION:For a Japanese word input device which feeds a KANA (Japanese syllabary) including KANJI (Chinese characters) through a ROMAJI (Japanese in Roman characters) keyboard, an abbreviated form ''KANJI'' of ''KANJI'' for example which is fed through a ROMAJI keyboard 1 is transferred to a consonant train extracting part 2 and a candidate collating part 6. At the part 2 a character train ''KANJI'' is formed by extracting the consonants only out of ''KANJI'', and the KANJI like ''manager (KANJI)'', etc. corresponding to ''KANJI'', and the KANJI dictionary 5 through a candidate retrieving part 3 in reference to a consonant train index 4. The collation is carried out through the part 6 to the candidate spelling, and the unsuitable words are deleted out of the candidates. Then a candidate is selected at a candidate analyzing part 7, and the selected candidate word is transferred to a writing part 8. This word is written into a storage part 9, and a character train is displayed at a display part 10. |
