PURPOSE:To display an accurate residual quantity even for lack of supply and discharge, by comparing a residual quantity value based on the fuel consumption value due to an engine injection quantity signal with a detection fuel value corresonding to the residual fuel signal of a fuel sender. CONSTITUTION:When a fuel tank of a car is filled up with fuel, an operation switch 7s is depressed to set the fuel value of a residual fuel storage circuit 5 to a maximum, and a fuel consumption value 4 due to the engine injection quantity signal from a measuring circuit 3 for injector opening time is subtracted from this maximum value. The fuel residual quantity value of this subtraction result is compared with an average value 8 of residual fuel signals, which are outputted from a fuel sensor 7 for a certain time, in a comparing circuit 10; and if their difference is a prescribed value or more, the detection fuel value is set to the current normal residual quantity preferentially, and this normal residual quantity value is used as the object to perform the subtraction continuously. Consequently, an accurate residual quantity is displayed even if fuel is not supplied to the maximum or fuel is discharged or the depression of the operation switch is forgotten. |
