The invention concerns the technique of electric-arc treatment and relates in particular to a method for the electric-arc treatment of the surface of workpieces. In this method, an arc is struck between the workpiece and the electrode, and segments are produced on its surface before the cleaning, the shape of which segments imitates the outlines of the required reliefs on the workpiece surface. The invention can be used to clean the workpiece surface while simultaneously applying the required relief to this surface before a coating as well as for the purposes of a decorative treatment of the workpiece.
