PURPOSE:To enhace a character input speed and improve the operability, by reporting information of the number of character strings in the second classification corresponding to one character string in the first classification with an acoustic means in case of character conversion. CONSTITUTION:Kana (Japanese syllabary) characters to be converted to Kanji (Chinese character) are inputted to a controlling part 2 by the key operation on a keyboard part 1. When the indication of the conversion start to Kanji is given to the controlling part 2 by the operation of a conversion start key, the controlling part 2 scans the index to read out Kanji, which have the same pronunciation as inputted Kana characters, from the Kanji section of a dictionary memory 3. Readout Kanji are transmitted and displayed on a connection line display part 4 and is stored in a buffer memory 5. When the controlling part reads out Kanji, it reads out information of the number of homonyms from the homonym number section and transmits this information to an acoustic converting part 6. The acoustic converting part 6 converts information of the number of homonyms to sounds to report the number of homonyms to the operator through hearing. |
