PURPOSE:To remove the residual electric charge on an electrostatic recording medium, by forming an electrically closed circuit between the dielectric layer/ conductive layer of the electrostatic recording medium and a pressure contact member consisting of a conductive roller or an roller containing an insulated member formed on a condcutive member. CONSTITUTION:In order to remove the residual electric charge on an electrostatic recording medium containing a dielectric layer 2 formed on a conductive roller 3 or a roller 3' (having a conductive member 3a' at the inner side and an insulated resin 3b' coated at the outer side) is pressed to the surface of the layer 2 by means of an expandable spring 4, etc. The layer 1 and the roller 3 or the member 3a' of the roller 3' are earthed. In such constitution, an electrically closed circuit is formed among the layer 2, the roller 3 and the layer 2. Then the residual electric charge on the layer 2 is removed in accordance with the shift of the electrostatic recording medium. It is possible to make the roller 3 attachable and detachable to and from the layer 2. |
