The electric heater is formed as an enclosure (1) and comprises a water outlet (2) and a water inlet (3). At least one electric resistance (7) furnishes heat to the engine cooling circuit water as it passes through the heater enclosure. The electric resistance elements lie parallel to the water flow and may be in various configurations, for example straight rod, hair pin, or zig-zag. The water is circulated through the heater by a pump (4) mounted directly on the water outlet (2) of the heater enclosure (1). The heater can be used in all types of vehicles but is particularly adapted for public transport vehicles.
|
