The support retains the lower section of a car windscreen (12) and is integral with the vehicle body. It has lateral sections (10,8,6) to pass a collision force to the vehicle body. It is in two sections on either side of the vehicle longitudinal axis and has a cross-section open against a reinforcing wall. The wall (21) is integral with the ends of the support post with the lateral force transmission sections and an inner vertical wall (14). The wall extends obliquely toward the fixation zone in the longitudinal plane of a steering column support.
