PURPOSE:To convert key coordinates to a message longer than the maximum key set conversion data length per one item, by dividing one page of a keyboard to plural logical pages and converting key coordinates to coordinates of logical pages to detect key set conversion data. CONSTITUTION:In a key set converting device where a key set conversion data storage memory 9 is referred to convert key coordinates to a message of a corresponding character length, one page of a keyboard is redefined as plural logical pages to read one-logical page components of key set conversion data from an external storage device 7 into a memory 9. Coordinates of depressed keys are converted to relative coordinates of logical pages by a page converting circuit 5, and key set conversion data corresponding converted relative coordinates are detected and are converted to a display message and are displayed on a display 3, and thus, key coordinates are converted to a message longer than the maximum key set conversion data length per one item even if the capacity of the memory 9 is fixed. |
