The hydraulic control device serves to control the pressure medium, delivered by a pump (12), alternatively to an accumulator (35) or a consumer (114). Serving to control the pressure medium to the consumer is a flow-control valve (16) which only controls pressure medium to the consumer when the accumulator (35) is charged. Serving to control the flow-control valve is a pilot-control valve (41) which is additionally actuated via a control element (49) acted upon by the accumulator pressure, specifically when the accumulator is charged. Furthermore, a brake device (116) with a pressure-reducing valve (72, 85) is provided. The pressure-reducing valve (72, 85) controls hydraulic oil from the accumulator into the brake line when the brake is actuated. A control groove (115) on the control spool (16) of the flow-control valve ensures that no undesirable pressure can build up in the return space (19) of the flow-control valve due to leakage oil at the control spool, which would impair its function. <IMAGE>
