PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of a magnetic surface by sticking turpentine oil on the surface of the magnetic layer of a magnetic recording medium made of ferromagnetic metal such as cobalt metal or cobalt alloy. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic medium having a ferromagnetic thin film of cobalt metal, cobalt alloy, etc., formed on a base film by vacuum deposition, etc., is dipped in a dilute solution, consisting of turpentine oil and a 0.1-5vol% organic solvent, for about two minutes at room temperature, and then takne out and dried rapidly at about 40 deg.C. |
