PURPOSE:To improve warm plastic workability with the reduction of the working temperature and extrusion pressure thereof for a sufficiently high magnetic characteristics, by adding gallium to a manganese-aluminum-carbon alloy magnet. CONSTITUTION:The alloy magnet is constituted of 66-75wt% of manganese, 0.2-3wt% of carbon, 0.1-5wt% of gallium and 18-33.6wt% of aluminum for the remain as the component thereof. Particularly, the fixed weight ratio of carbon and gallium improves the warm plastic workability with anisotropy magnetically provided then to obtain a magnetic characteristc (BH)m=5-6MG. Oe or more. The alloy with said composition is casted and heated with solution heat treatment for hardening. Thereafter, tempering is applied to transform the alloy into a ferromagnetic gamma phase. Or warm plastic work is performed by extrusion work with anisotropy provided in the alloy to manufacture an alloy magnet. The warm plastic workability is improved by the addition of gallium in 0.5-3wt%. |
