PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the optical recording medium easy in production, suitable for mass production and inexpensive by providing a preformat only on one side of the medium capable of double-side recording and using the preformatted side based on information from this preformat and the nonpreformatted side in obtaining required address information from the preformatted side. SOLUTION: A recording layer 2 is provided on a preformatted substrate 1, and a protective layer 3 is provided on the recording layer 2. A nonpreformatted substrate 4 to be stuck on the substrate 1 is provided with a recording layer 5 on this specular substrate 4, and a protective layer 6 is provided on the recording layer 5. Then, the protective layers 3 and 6 are stuck on each other by an adhesive layer to make one disk. A level of positional adjustment requested for eccentricity and inclination at this sticking time is rather low as compared with the case of sticking for a doubel-sided disk formatted on both sides. Thus, the medium is increased in storage capacity, and is suitable for mass production at low cost. |
