Gases are sprayed with slurry of basic material and filtered and washed. Heat is exchanged between the gas e.g. exhaust gas and process air so that material in the form of SO2, SO3 and heavy metals are removed from the gas with the condensn. of water. DETAILS - The exhaust gases enter reactor and react with sprayed lime slurry. Solid sulphate and sulphite are formed and are filtered in the cleaning chamber. Condensed water dissolves any unreacted sulphur contg. gases. Heavy metals settle on the exchanger and are removed. (Provisional basic previously advised in Week 8434) |
