PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical recording type magnetic head capable of effectively suppressing the effect of a magnetic field on an adjacent track, and efficiently increasing a recording density on an information recording medium. SOLUTION: The magnetic head is provided with a substrate 101, a bottom pole 120 formed on the substrate 101, and a top pole 110 arranged away from the bottom pole 120 at a specified interval, and the bottom pole 120 has a width narrower than that of the top pole 110. Thus, the expansion of magnetic fields from both sides of the top pole 110 is suppressed, and the problem of the protrusion of the bottom pole 120 to an adjacent track by a skewing angle caused by the structure of a hard disk drive, and the erasure of the information of the adjacent track is effectively prevented.
