PURPOSE:To both rationalize casting work and facilitate assembly work, by casting the parts of cylinders, attached crank case, etc. as a longitudinally divided integrated member and performing wear resistant treatment and finishing work internally of said member. CONSTITUTION:There is cast a half divided cylinder block member 1 longitudinally divided into semi-circular sectional shape with each cylinder 2 under a parallel condition contained with a water jacket part 3 in its surroundings. Simultaneously, another half divided cylinder block member, symmetrical to said half divided cylinder block member 1, is also cast. Attached parts, for instance, a crank case 5, crankshaft bearings 6, etc. are also formed to these members 1 integrally each in a half divided state. Further treatment of wear resistance is applied internally to the cylinder 2 by head chrome plating or hard chrome flame spraying or evaporation, and then internally finishing work is performed, finally a cylinder liner is press fitted. Then pistons are assembled between the both members to perform integral combination. |
