PURPOSE:To assure bonding strength, to prevent wear of a magnetic substance plate and to assure a stable gap, by providing a protective thin film layer of excellent nonmagnetic substance in wear resistance at both sides of the magnetic substance plate and bonding a nonmagnetic substance holder via the layer. CONSTITUTION:At both sides of the tip forming a head gap of a magneic substance plate 1, a nonmagnetic substance protective thin film layer 11 excellent in wear resistance is provided, and a nonmagnetic holder 2 is bonded via the layer to form a laminated construction. This protective thin film layer 11 is formed uniformly in <=several-micron thickness with sputtering. The layer 11 has the wear resistance of the same degree as that of the magnetic substance plate 1 to protect both the sides of the plate 1. Thus, the plate 1 is assured with the wear resistance over the entire region of the plane is sliding contact with a recording medium and plastic deformation due to sliding contact can hardly be caused. |
